About Dr. Holtzclaw
Dr. Holtzclaw is the Chief Clinical Officer of Advanced Dental Implant Center (ADIC). He is focused on advancing the skills of doctors throughout the U.S., including doctors across the Advanced Dental Implant Center network. Each ADIC location features doctors with experience to carry on the life-changing dental care that has been a part of the ADIC tradition since its inception.
Dr. Holtzclaw is a Periodontist who specializes in advanced procedures such as immediate full mouth dental implants, complex cases utilizing Pterygoid and Zygomatic implants, traditional dental implant treatments, bone regeneration, and the treatment of periodontal disease. Dr. Holtzclaw has authored multiple implant textbooks including Pterygoid Implants: The Art and Science and Remote Anchorage Solutions for Severe Maxillary Atrophy: Zygomatic, Pterygoid, Transnasal, Piriform Rim, Nasopalatine, and Trans-Sinus Dental Implants.
Dr. Dan Holtzclaw is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Long recognized as one of the world’s leaders in full-arch implantology, Dr. Holtzclaw has published over 60 articles in peer reviewed journals in addition to multiple textbooks. Dr. Holtzclaw served as the Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry for 13 years in addition to serving as an editorial board member and/or editorial reviewer for six additional dental journals. With over 200 main podium lectures provided at major dental conferences all over the world, Dr. Holtzclaw has been named a “Leader in Continuing Dental Education” by Dentistry Today Magazine for the past 19 consecutive years. Dr. Holtzclaw is a proud 13-year veteran of the United States Navy.
The American Board of Periodontology was established in 1939 by the American Academy of Periodontology. The mission of the American Board of Periodontology is to advance and elevate the quality of periodontal care through examination, certification, and recertification of periodontists through Diplomate status.
Diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology have made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. To achieve Board certification, periodontists must:
- Have completed dental school and have earned a DDS or DMD degree.
- Be a certified periodontist.
- Complete a comprehensive qualifying and oral examination covering all phases of periodontal disease and its treatments, including dental implants.
- Gain recertification every six years.
